North American Surface Trade Numbers for April

April Surface Trade with Canada and Mexico Rose 5.3 Percent from April 2006

Trade using surface transportation between the United States and its North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) partners Canada and Mexico was valued at $65.0 billion in April 2007, 5.3 percent higher than in April 2006 for the biggest percentage increase from the same month of the previous year since August 2006, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), reported today.
