A key feature of iTRAK Report Manager is the fully automatic generation of vehicle reports as a background activity on any user’s PC.

The new application is designed to be used with the company’s core product, iTRAK Fleet Manager™. Customers can now schedule an expanded array of reports to run in real time or on any selected future date. Users can configure reports to run once, or on a recurring daily, weekly, or quarterly basis. Data is automatically stored on the user’s PC for archiving and subsequent retrieval.

ICF International Awarded Department of Transportation Contract Valued at $10M

icftm_rgbFAIRFAX, Va. - ICF Incorporated, LLC, a subsidiary of ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), announced on Wednesday that it won a competitively awarded recompete contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The total value of the five-year contract (one base year, four option years) is $10 million.

FMCSA’s mission is “to promote safe commercial motor vehicle operation through education, regulation, enforcement, and innovative research and technology to reduce truck and bus crashes resulting in fewer fatalities and injuries.” Through this contract, ICF will support FMCSA’s mission by assisting the agency in fulfilling its regulatory and policy development mandates. Contract tasks include conducting policy research, assisting in drafting regulatory and policy documents, performing regulatory analyses, developing training and outreach materials, organizing and analyzing public comments on proposed regulations, organizing conferences and public meetings, and providing on-site support to the FMCSA rulemaking teams.

Oak Harbor Freight Teamsters Protest at Gap Headquarters

Washington, D.C. — October 21, 2008, Teamsters rappelled down the side of a building adjacent to The Gap’s headquarters in San Francisco to bring attention to the company’s support of union-busting freight firm Oak Harbor Freight Lines. Oak Harbor Freight Lines, the company that transports Gap merchandise on the West Coast, recently cut health care benefits for its workers and retirees.

U.S. Border Crossings Getting Enhanced Technology for Screening Vehicles

Security and Traffic Management Company Perceptics Announces Contract Award from Unisys for Improved Threat Detection at U.S. Land Ports of Entry and for Reading New Radio Frequency Identification-Enabled Documents.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Enhanced technology being installed at U.S. border crossings under a high-priority border security initiative includes upgraded license plate reader (LPR) systems and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers for new Passport Cards, Enhanced Driver’s Licenses, and other secure documents, according to Perceptics, LLC, which is providing the new equipment via a sub-contract with Unisys Corp.

The upgrades at the northern and southern land borders are part of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), which designates a limited set of secure documents acceptable for entry into the United States, while incorporating the latest security technology at land ports of entry. The new technology makes it possible for CBP officers to improve border security while expediting border crossings.

ABF Freight to pay $300,000 in Discrimination Settlement

DALLAS — An Arkansas-based trucking company agreed to pay $300,000 to nearly 800 minority and female applicants as part of a hiring discrimination settlement, the U.S. Department of Labor announced Tuesday.

ABF Freight System, Inc., also agreed to hire 24 of the previously rejected applicants, who had applied for a checker casual position. Checker casuals are dock workers called in when there is work to be done, as opposed to part-time workers who have regular schedules.
