IDG Computerworld Honors Tracy Black of J.B. Hunt Transport Services as a 2007 Premier 100 IT Leader

LOWELL, ARKANSAS, – J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT) on January 1, 2007 announced that Tracy Black, Vice President of Information Systems for J.B. Hunt, has been recognized by IDG’s Computerworld, the “Voice of IT Management,” as one of the business world’s Premier 100 IT Leaders. The 2007 honorees, including Ms. Black, will be recognized at Computerworld’s upcoming Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference, March 4-6, 2007, at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, California.
 
The Premier 100 IT Leaders Awards Program honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving pressing business problems. Honorees demonstrate the ability to foster creativity and challenging work environments, envision fresh approaches to business challenges and effectively manage IT investments.
Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference involves companies across all industries, as well as government and educational organizations. Ms. Black was selected from nearly 500 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld’s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations, and evaluated by the editors and by an external panel of outside judges.

“This year's class of honorees is characterized by a diversity that demonstrates the value of unique backgrounds and approaches in building an outstanding IT organization,” said Don Tennant, editor in chief, Computerworld. “Yet what these individuals have in common is an expertise born of hard work and an intangible leadership quality they can tap to successfully champion IT not only as a business enabler, but as a business influencer.”


Ms. Black began her career with J.B. Hunt in 1988. After six years with the Company, she was promoted to Vice President of Logistics Applications Development. She assumed the role of Vice President of Application Development in 2000 and today serves as the Vice President of Information Systems for all business units at Hunt. Under her management, J.B. Hunt has become recognized as one the leading information technology departments in the transportation industry. She graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Arkansas where she received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics.
